Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Mid-America Christian Lady Evangels have added junior transfer Kourtni Williams for the upcoming 2010-11 campaign.

Williams, a 5-11 forward from Fayetteville, Ark., played two years at NCAA Division II member Southwest Baptist in the tough MIAA conference and reached double-figure scoring 11 times, including a career-high 16 points on two occasions.

She started 18 times in her two seasons and averaged 6.7 points a game for the SBU Bearcats.

Williams was a two-time All-State selection at Fayetteville HS and helped them win the 7A state championship in 2009, finishing with a 32-0 overall record and a No. 8 ranking by the USA Today.

"We are very excited to have Kourtni Williams become a part of our program, as she is a great fit for what we are trying to do offensively and defensively," head coach Roman Owen said.

"More importantly, she is an outstanding young lady who brings great character to the university."
