OKLAHOMA CITY -- Mid-America Christian University Women's Basketball head coach
Roman Owen has announced the addition of incoming freshman Cheyenne Been to the program for the 2013-14 season.
Been is an accomplished player out of Dewar (Okla.) HS. She was a three-time Okmulgee County Player of the Year and an All-County selection from 2010-12.
She is also a three-time Crossroads Conference MVP and was the Class A state leader in scoring the past two seasons and dished out a state-leading 8.3 assists in 2012.
Been helped lead the Dewar HS Dragons to three consecutive district championships and three straight conference titles from the 2010-12 seasons. She also contributed to three straight All-Area tournament appearances and back-to-back Okmulgee County tournament titles.
A versatile athlete, Been was also a standout softball player and was a state track medalist in the 100m hurdles in 2012.
She is the daughter of Todd and Jean Ann Been and has also excelled in the classroom. Been is a member of the Oklahoma and National Honor Society, along with the Oklahoma Indian and Native American Honor Society.
"We are very excited to add Cheyenne to our program," Owen said. "She has been highly successful throughout her high school career and it is her drive and competitiveness that caught our eye. We cannot wait to see her in the MACU uniform!"
