One day after being named SAC Player of the Week, Brandon Williams now earns NCCAA Player of the Week honor

Greenville, S.C. -- One day after receiving the Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week award, Mid-America Christian University senior guard Brandon Williams (Dallas, Texas) has now been selected as the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Player of the Week, the organization announced today.

Williams receives the honor after powering the Evangels to a hard-fought, 104-89 overtime victory on Senior Day over St. Gregory's last Saturday (Feb. 25).  Williams scored a personal season-high 32 points on 10-of-12 shooting overall and 6-of-7 from three-point range.  He also tied a team season-best with steals along with four assists and three rebounds.

Two days earlier, Williams helped the Evangels hang tough at No. 1-ranked Oklahoma Baptist with 18 points, four rebounds and three steals before eventually falling 83-72.

Overall in the two games, Williams averaged 25.0 ppg and 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and a whopping 4.5 steals. Williams also shot a blistering 72.7 percent overall from the field and a blazing 88.9 percent (8-of-9) from three-point distance.

Williams, the Evangels' first-ever NAIA All-American selection last season, is second on the team in scoring with 13.1 ppg and also ranks second in assists (75) on the season.

Next up for Williams and the Evangels is the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Central Regional Tournament next week in Denver, Colo. on the campus of Colorado Christian.

The Evangels advanced to the regional title game here last year before falling 81-73 to eventual NCCAA national champion Dallas Baptist.
