Moore, Okla. -- The Mid-America Christian Evangels are now 2-1 on the season after routing Hillsdale College 13-2 Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 7) in Moore, Okla.

Down 2-0 after four innings, the Evangels got to work, pounding out 23 hits the rest of the way. Luis Martinez powered the Evangels' offensive attack that included a pair of doubles.  Jon Jon Lemos also homered in the victory.

Andrew Smith pitched 2 2/3 innings to pick up the win, with the pitching being backed by a strong defensive effort that committed no errors and turned two double plays.

The Evangels will return home this weekend and host a pair of doubleheaders, beginning with McPherson College on Friday afternoon (Feb. 10) and then Evangel (Mo.) on Saturday afternoon.  Both twinbills are set for noon at James Curtis Field.
