OKLAHOMA CITY - Mid-America Christian University women's basketball head coach Roman Owen has announced the signing of Odessa, Texas native April Williams for the 2012-13 season.

Williams played for the Permian (Texas) HS Lady Panthers and earned consecutive first-team All-District honors in addition to being named the District Defensive Player of the Year for the 2011-12 campaign.

The 5'8 forward also helped the Lady Panthers advance past the first round of the playoffs for the first time in school history.

She is the daughter of Raven Hall and Carlton Williams and anticipates majoring in Behavioral Science at MACU.

"We are very excited to sign such a great athlete but even better a wonderful person," Owen said. "April brings some versatility we're looking for and with hard work she has the ability to reach a high ceiling."
