OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Rangers captured the series opener 13-3 over the Mid-America Christian University Evangels Thursday afternoon (Apr. 12) at James Curtis Field.
The Rangers more than took advantage of a combined 15 walks issued by the Evangel pitching staff.
It was 1-0 when the Rangers busted the game wide open with three in the third and five more in the fourth. A two-run single by Jose Maysonet keyed the five-run fourth that made it 9-0.
Jon Jon Lemos blasted a towering three-run homer to right in the bottom of the fourth that got the Evangels on the board.
Luis Martinez went 2-of-4 at the plate for MACU (6-30, 2-20 SAC).
