OKLAHOMA CITY - Mid-America Christian University head baseball coach Mike Brown has announced the hiring of Lloyd Cummings as assistant baseball coach for the 2013 season. Brown is no stranger to Cummings, having served as an assistant on his staff for two seasons at Rose State College.

"This is a great hire for the program, as Lloyd brings a wealth of knowledge that will assist the program and the pitchers greatly," Brown said. "I look forward to working with Lloyd again, since I was part of his staff at Rose State. Lloyd will be over pitching and also assist with daily operations and game day preparation."

Cummings brings a vast baseball coaching background to MACU. He began his coaching career at Carl Albert High School, in which he spent two seasons as an assistant and then seven years as the head coach.

He was then the head coach for 15 years at Rose State before retiring in 2009. The past two seasons, Cummings has served as the pitching coach at Oklahoma Christian University.

Cummings received both his bachelor and master's degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma.
