What's at stake: With a win at John Brown coupled with an Oklahoma Baptist loss at USAO, the Lady Evangels would move into the fifth spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

The Dish on the Lady Evangels: Kourtni Williams recorded her sixth double-double of the season with game-highs of 28 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels to a 71-64 victory over the St. Gregory's Cavaliers last night (Jan. 17).  Williams' 15 boards tied for second all-time in a single game since the Lady Evangels joined the NAIA.  The win snapped a four-game losing skid and gave the Lady Evangels their first Sooner Athletic Conference win of the season.

Williams is having a season that is certain to garner SAC Player of the Year consideration.  The 5-11 senior forward from Fayetteville, Ark. leads the league in scoring with 18.2 ppg and is second in rebounding with 9.3 rpg.  Senior guard Parris Price is second on the team with 14.7 ppg along with a team-high 37 steals.  Senior point guard Sabrina McKinney has dished out a team-best 85 assists on the season.

The Dish on the Golden Eagles: The John Brown University Golden Eagles are currently 7-10 overall and 2-3 in the SAC after falling 56-46 last night at Oklahoma Baptist University.

Sierra Shipley is averaging a team-high 12.2 ppg for the Golden Eagles and Morgan Ankrom leads the Golden Eagles in rebounding with 6.5 rpg.  Kami Garrison leads the way with 49 assists this season for JBU.

Conference Standouts:  If you glance at the Sooner Athletic Conference statistical leaders, you'll see plenty of Lady Evangels sprinkled in.  Kourtni Williams is tops in the SAC in scoring (18.2 ppg) and second in rebounding (9.3 rpg).  Sabrina McKinney is tied for the conference lead with 5.7 assists per game, while Parris Price is third in the league with 2.5 steals a game.

Did you know? The Evangels are a perfect 8-0 when out-rebounding their opponent, but only 2-5 when the opposition secures more boards.
