KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Mid-America Christian University Men's and Women's Basketball squads have each received votes in the first NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Polls that were released today (Dec. 10).

The Lady Evangels just missed out on cracking the Top 25 by getting 25 votes to come in 28th in the rankings.

The MBB Evangels received 23 votes to finish 30th in the poll.

Under first-year head coach Marcus Moeller, the Lady Evangels are on quite a roll with an eight-game winning streak and are 8-1 overall and are 2-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.  The eight-game streak is the longest since MACU joined the NAIA in 2007.

The Evangels, guided by Willie Holley in his 41st season at the helm, are also 2-0 in the SAC and are 6-1 overall.  MACU has also notched a pair of exhibition victories over NCAA II opponents, including an 89-88 win at Arkansas Tech University and a 91-73 rout of Southwestern Oklahoma State University at home.
