OKLAHOMA CITY -- Cheyenne Been poured in a career-high 25 points to fuel the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels to an 88-57 rout of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Drovers in Sooner Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon (Dec. 7) inside the Gaulke Activity Center.
The victory extends the Lady Evangels' winning streak to eight, their longest streak since joining the NAIA in 2007.
Been helped the Lady Evangels (8-1, 2-0 SAC) pull away early by scoring 17 points and nailing four threes to spark a 29-7 burst for a commanding 37-12 lead at the 4:33 mark of the first half.
After a score from Paige Pulliam halted the run, Been again connected from downtown to make it 40-14 and the Lady Evangels went on to lead 44-19 at the break.
The Lady Evangels never let up in the second, leading by as many as 33 on three occasions, with the last coming on a bucket from Maclayn Massey that made it 83-50 with 2:40 left.
Been's 25 points came on 9-of-12 shooting overall from the field and 6-of-8 from three-point distance. Ashlee Ferguson scored 13 and Massey chipped in with 11. Lauren McKinney pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds for the Lady Evangels.
Rachelle Carr led the Drovers with 16 points and seven boards, with Amber Chaney adding 10 points.
The Lady Evangels dominated the game defensively and on the boards, limiting the Drovers to only a 32.2 percent (19-of-59) shooting clip for the game, while also holding a whopping 57-35 edge in rebounding.
