Been Garners SAC Player of the Week Honor

OKLAHOMA CITY -- In her first nine games with the Mid-America Christian University women's basketball program, freshman guard Cheyenne Been has made quite an impact and today she was named the Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league announced this afternoon (Dec. 9).

Been scored 20.5 ppg along with 2.5 rpg and three steals in leading the Lady Evangels to a 2-0 start in the SAC and an 8-1 overall record.

She scored 16 and hit 4-of-6 from three-point distance in a 76-67 victory at Texas Wesleyan University last Wednesday (Dec. 4) and then poured in a career-high 25 points and knocked down 6-of-8 from the perimeter in an 88-57 win over USAO on Saturday (Dec. 7).

A native of Dewar, Okla., Been has been one of the top three-point shooters in the SAC thus far this season, leading the league in threes made (23), threes per game (2.56) and is tied in three-point percentage (.500).

Under first-year head coach Marcus Moeller, Been and the Lady Evangels have won eight straight games, their longest streak since joining the NAIA in 2007.
