Evangels Swept by Oklahoma Wesleyan

Bartlesville, Okla. -- The Mid-America Christian University Evangels fell twice to the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles by scores of 11-1 and 4-0 today (Apr. 16) in Bartlesville, Okla.

The Eagles jumped on top with a run in the first and then busted it wide open with four runs in the third and then a six-run explosion in the fourth.

An RBI groundout by Bryan McKissick plated Kory Palmer in the fifth for the Evangels' lone run of the game.

The Evangels were hurt by four miscues that led to three of the four Eagles' runs being unearned.  Palmer threw well, allowing only one earned run in 5 2/3 innings.

Brendin Vogt blanked the Evangels on only two hits and struck out six over 6 1/3 innings.

The Evangels will next begin a four-game series at St. Gregory's University on Thursday afternoon (Apr. 18) at 1 p.m. in Shawnee, Okla.  MACU will then host SGU for a doubleheader Saturday afternoon (Apr. 20) at 1 p.m.
