OKLAHOMA CITY -- Senior first baseman Trent Daniels has been selected as a first-team Capitol One Academic All-District selection, the organization announced yesterday (May 2).

As a first-team selection, Daniels will advance to the Capitol One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first, second and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

The award is voted upon by the members of the College of Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and nominees must be at least a sophomore and maintain a minimum 3.3 grade-point-average.

Daniels majors in Behavioral Science and is one of only two first-team College Division honorees with a 4.0 GPA.

The OKC native has played and started all 51 games this season, with a team-high .394 on-base percentage.  He also ranks third on the team in hitting and second in both runs scored and walks.

Daniels and the Evangels are set to continue action in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament later today against USAO at 1 p.m. at Jim Wade Stadium on the Oklahoma City University campus.
