OKLAHOMA CITY -- Mid-America Christian University junior guard Jarius Wilson has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today (Jan. 27).

Wilson pumped in an average of 25.5 points per game along with 5.5 rebounds to lead the No. 22-ranked Evangels to a pair of victories this past week and take over sole possession of second place in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

The Duncanville, Texas native scored a game-high in both victories, beginning with a 26 point effort in an 87-74 win at John Brown University, then 25 points to fuel an 89-78 win over No. 17-ranked St. Gregory's University. Wilson's 25.5 ppg came on an extremely efficient 63.3 percent overall from the field and a blazing 72.7 percent from three-point distance.

Wilson is currently the top three-point percentage shooter in the SAC, knocking down 50 percent (34-of-68) of his tries from the perimeter.

Wilson and the Evangels (11-5, 7-3 SAC) will be back in action on Thursday night (Jan. 30) at USAO.  Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. in Chickasha, Okla.
