Kansas City, Mo. -- The Mid-America Christian University Evangels achieved their top NAIA national ranking in school history at No. 18 in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' poll, the organization released last night (Jan. 7).

The Evangels, under 41st year head coach Willie Holley, are 8-3 overall and 4-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference after knocking off Oklahoma Baptist University 69-64 on the road last night in Shawnee, Okla.

Overall, the SAC has four teams in the poll, the most of any league in the NAIA.

Also, the Lady Evangels come in this week as the top team receiving votes in the latest poll, just two votes shy of achieving their first-ever NAIA national ranking.

The Lady Evangels are guided by first-year head coach Marcus Moeller and are 10-4 overall and 4-1 in the SAC.
