Record Setting Performance Earns Ferguson SAC Player of the Week Honor

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Following a record setting effort Saturday (Feb. 22), Mid-America Christian University junior guard Ashlee Ferguson has been selected as the Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league announced today (Feb. 24).

Ferguson lit up the St. Gregory's University Cavaliers for 40 points on 15 field goals made and nine threes in a 90-75 win on the road Saturday. The 40 points is a school record since joining the NAIA and only one shy of the overall school record. The 15 field goals and nine treys represent overall school marks.

The Colony, Texas native also scored 15 points in a 60-55 victory over No. 16-ranked John Brown University on Thursday night.

Ferguson is currently fifth in the Sooner Athletic Conference in scoring (16.0 ppg) and leads the league in threes per game (3.04).

Her play has been key in the Lady Evangels' current four-game winning streak to improve to 17-10 overall and 11-7 in the SAC.

Ferguson and the Lady Evangels return home to host No. 6-ranked Oklahoma City University Thursday evening (Feb. 27) at 6 p.m. inside the Gaulke Activity Center.
