Ferguson Earns NCCAA All-America Selection

Greenville, SC -- Mid-America Christian University junior guard Ashlee Ferguson has been selected to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-America squad as an Honorable-Mention pick, the organization announced yesterday (Mar. 27).

Earlier this week, Ferguson earned an NAIA Honorable-Mention selection.

Ferguson, in her first season with the program, led the Lady Evangels in scoring (16.7 ppg) and hit a team-best 98 threes on the season.

Her 16.7 ppg ranked third in the Sooner Athletic Conference this season and she also led the league in threes.  Her 98 treys are the most in a single-season by a Lady Evangel since joining the NAIA and her overall point total of 533 is a single-season record as an NAIA school.

She helped the Lady Evangels advance to the NCCAA Central Regional title game and come within one spot of an at-large bid to the NCCAA National Tournament.  She was named to the NCCAA Central Region All-Tournament team after averaging 20 points per game in the Lady Evangels two tourney games.

Ferguson also produced a record-setting performance of 40 points with 15 field goals made and nine treys in a 90-75 victory at St. Gregory's University.  The 40 points are a school single-game record as an NAIA program and only one shy of the overall school mark.  The 15 field goals and nine threes represent overall school records.

Ferguson's performance helped the Lady Evangels enjoy a historic season under first-year head coach Marcus Moeller.  MACU won its most conference games (11) since joining the NAIA and the 18 victories overall are also the most as an NAIA school.
