Shawnee, Okla. -- The No. 1-ranked Oklahoma Bapist University Bison had little trouble taking care of the Mid-America Christian University Evangels today (Apr. 10) 15-2 in the opener of a three-game series in Shawnee, Okla.

The Bison scored a run in the first and then a two-run double by Jeff Ricker keyed a three-run second inning for OBU.

Kevin Hatch then hit a two-run homer to fuel a four-run third inning that put the Bison comfortably in front 8-0.

After Victor Cuevas got the Evangels on the board in the sixth with a two-run single that plated Logan Glasgow and Dustin Carlsward, Matt Page capped a six-run bottom of the inning with a two-run triple.

The Bison had five players drive in at least two runs, including Joey Szczepanski and Steven Knudson each going 3-of-3.

Jordan Morales went six innings on the mound for OBU with two runs allowed and seven strikeouts to get the win.

MACU will host the second game of the series tomorrow afternoon (Apr. 11) at 2 p.m at James Curtis Field.
