Moeller Adds Another NCAA D-II Transfer

OKLAHOMA CITY – Mid-America Christian University women's basketball head coach Marcus Moeller is happy to announce the addition of D'Shala Culberson to the 2014-2015 roster.

The 5'9 sophomore forward from Duncan, Okla. comes to MACU from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Okla.

Culberson averaged two points and 1.3 rebounds in limited action as a freshman at Southwestern Oklahoma State University on a team that went 24-7 and made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

During her senior year at Duncan she averaged 11 point, nine rebounds and two steals a game.

The 2011-2012 edition of Culberson's Duncan HS Lady Demon team finished the season with a 17-9 record.  Culberson was rewarded for her senior year prowess by being named OCA All-Region and All-State along with being named to the Southwest Oklahoma All-Star game where she played for the North Large School team.

"We have been very fortunate to sign several very good NCAA Division II transfers over the past three years," Moeller said.

"Shala is another one we can add to that list.  What we're getting in Shala is a young lady who can play and guard multiple positions.  Her versatility is a huge addition for us.  She is very athletic and a great rebounder.  I love her work ethic and mental approach to the game.  She's a terrific student in the classroom and a focused competitor on the court.  We are extremely happy to be adding Shala to our family!"

Culberson will be joining a team that won its most games overall (18) and conference games (11) under first-year coach Moeller since joining the NAIA back in 2007.
