OKLAHOMA CITY -- Fresh off of leading the No. 25-ranked Mid-America Christian University Evangels to two victories this past week that extended their win streak to six games, senior guard Semar Farris has been selected as the Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

The six-game streak the Evangels are currently riding is the longest for MACU since joining the NAIA in 2007.

Farris averaged 19.0 ppg, seven assists and 2.5 steals overall in the two wins.

The Ft. Worth, Texas native scored 16 points with six assists in an 83-81 victory over Texas Wesleyan University and then delivered 22 points and eight dimes to lead a 92-75 rout of No. 8-ranked Oklahoma Baptist University.

Farris is ninth in the SAC in points per game (17.3 ppg) and is tops in the SAC in both assists (5.5 apg) and steals per game (2.35 spg).

The 25th ranked Evangels, who are expected to make a sizable jump in the NAIA Top 25 poll later today, will next host USAO Thursday night (Jan. 29) at 8 p.m. inside the Gaulke Activity Center.
