OKLAHOMA CITY -- Mid-America Christian University senior guard Ashlee Ferguson pulled in a couple of awards today in being named the Sooner Athletic Conference and OklahomaSports.Net Player of the Week today (Jan. 5).
Ferguson had two huge games this past week, averaging 27.0 ppg along with three rebounds, two assists and 1.5 steals.
The Colony, Texas native's big game came in a 100-65 victory over Northern New Mexico College that featured a game-high 37 points on 13-of-27 shooting from the floor. Also, Ferguson's nine threes tied a school mark that she also set last season (2/22/14).
She is currently fifth in the SAC in scoring (16.5 ppg) and is second in threes per game (2.9). She also has a team-high 23 steals on the season.
Ferguson was the OSN Women's Basketball Player of the Week, while Buddy Hield of the University of Oklahoma garnered Men's Player of the Week honors.
