KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Mid-America Christian University Evangels moved up two spots in this week's NAIA Men's Basketball Top 25 Coaches' Poll for their highest-ever ranking of No. 12, the organization released today (Feb. 23).
The No. 12-ranked Evangels (20-8, 13-3 SAC) lead the Sooner Athletic Conference by one full game over No. 14-ranked Wayland Baptist University. The two schools are set to face each other in the regular season finale Saturday afternoon (Feb. 28) at 3 p.m. in Plainview, Texas.
First things first though, the Evangels are at Texas Wesleyan University Thursday night (Feb. 26) at 8 p.m. in Ft. Worth, Texas.
The Evangels have won five straight overall and 12 of their last 14 games to reach 20 victories for the first time as an NAIA school. (The 2009-10 season shows 20 wins, however one of those victories was achieved later by a forfeit).
