KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Mid-America Christian University men's basketball seniors Josh Smith and Jarius Wilson have each earned the prestigious NAIA Scholar Athlete award, the organization released yesterday (Mar. 23).

To qualify to be nominated by the school's head coach or Sports Information Director, a student-athlete must be at least a junior in academic standing with a minimum 3.5 grade-point average.

Smith majored in Secondary Mathematics/Education with a 3.5 GPA, while Wilson maintained a 3.57 GPA in Business Administration.

The senior duo is fresh off wrapping up their stellar careers by helping the Evangels with their first regular season Sooner Athletic Conference championship and then advance to the quarterfinals of the 2015 Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship for the first time in school history.
