Farris Earns Second Consecutive NAIA All-America Honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Mid-America Christian University senior guard Semar Farris has been named a first-team NAIA All-America selection, the organization has announced.

It's the second straight season Farris has been selected as an NAIA All-American, as he earned second-team honors last year.

Farris led the Evangels in points (17.4 ppg), assists (173), steals (81) and threes (89) this season, with his steal total ranking third overall in the NAIA and his assist total fourth.

It marks the second consecutive season that the Ft. Worth, Texas native has dished out 173 assists, with both ranking as the highest single-season assist totals in school history as an NAIA school.

In addition to their initial NAIA National Championship tournament appearance, Farris also helped the Evangels win 25 games, their most since joining the NAIA along with their first-ever Sooner Athletic Conference regular season championship.

Overall, it's the fifth straight season MACU has featured an NAIA All-America performer, as Farris joins Charlie Shorter as the only two-time NAIA All-America performers in school history.
