Glasgow, Pope Combine to Lead Evangels to 3-0 Win at Friends

Wichita, Kan. -- Logan Glasgow went 3-of-4 at the plate and David Pope threw eight shutout innings in his first career start to lead the Mid-America Christian University Evangels to a 3-0 victory at the Friends University Falcons tonight (Apr. 7) in Wichita, Kan.

The Evangels got all their runs in the first inning, as Reggie Lindsey drew a lead-off walk and then scored following consecutive bunt singles by Daniel Thompson and Glasgow.

Thompson and Glasgow each later scored on a two-out error to make it 3-0.

That's all Pope would need to secure his first career win.  The Austin, Texas native blanked the Falcons on only three hits with five strikeouts during his eight innings of work.

Wyatt Glasgow then came on and closed out the win by striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his fifth save of the season.

A.J Wilson also had two hits in five at-bats in the victory for the Evangels.

The Evangels will now gear up for a critical three-game series at Southwestern Christian University, starting Friday afternoon (Apr. 10) with a doubleheader at 2 p.m. in Bethany, Okla.

MACU currently trails SCU by one game overall and two games in the win column for the sixth and final spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference Postseason Baseball Tournament.
