OKLAHOMA CITY – First-year Mid-America Christian University men's basketball head coach Josh Gamblin has announced the signing of Malcolm Mann to the program for the upcoming 2015-16 season.
"Malcolm exemplifies what we are looking for in our players," Gamblin said. "He is not just a great fit on the court, but more importantly off of it. Malcolm will have an immediate impact and we look forward to what he will bring to our program."
Prior to coming to MACU, Mann competed for two seasons at Hesston College (Kan.), where he was selected as the school's 2015 Male Student-Athlete of the Year.
Mann, a native of Plano, Texas, led the Hesston College Larks to the Region VI championship and a spot in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament for the first time in 25 years.
He was a two-year captain for the Larks and ranks among the top 10 in career steals on the school's all-time list.
Mann also earned honorable-mention all-region honors this past season at Hesston.
A solid student-athlete, Mann also took part in campus activities, such as First-Year Experience Scholar, campus worship team and the Hesston College Gospel Choir.
Mann is joining a program that is coming off its best season since joining the NAIA. The Evangels captured their first Sooner Athletic Conference regular season championship last year and advanced all the way to the quarterfinals of the NAIA National Championship Tournament in their debut appearance.
