OKLAHOMA CITY – Mid-America Christian University men's golf head coach Allen Dukes has announced the signing of Kevin Young to the squad for the upcoming 2016-17 season.

Young, a 5'9 freshman from Oklahoma City, finished in first place at the Norman Junior Golf Association championship and the Lake Hefner Club championship.

"I feel like Kevin is a steal for MACU Golf," Dukes said. "He was home-schooled in high school and therefore did not play in the OSSAA Regional and state tournaments, so a lot of colleges were unaware of his ability."

He is the son of Gary and Kathy Young and was on the President's Honor Roll as a home-school student.

"His older sister played basketball here for our athletic director, Marcus Moeller, so his family is very familiar with MACU," Dukes said. "We are very happy Kevin also chose to play here because he is a very promising young prospect."
