OKLAHOMA CITY -- Entering his fourth season at the helm of the Mid-America Christian University men's golf program, head coach Allen Dukes is expected to have his deepest roster since taking over the squad in 2013. Dukes guided the team to a pair of top five finishes last season and also saw outgoing senior Jerry Miller finish tied for 18th overall at the Sooner Athletic Conference postseason tournament, the best finish in school history at the tourney.

This season's squad will be anchored by seniors Wilson Prada, Nathan Chadd, David Smith, Tyler Kelpine and Wilson Prada.

The Evangels also welcome back a trio returners in junior Parker Lepley along with sophomores Jake Reddington and Austin Davis.

Dukes also did a great job bolstering his depth this season with the addition of newcomers Caleb Conn, David Wilson, Tyler Price, Kevin Young, Jesse Humphrey and Colter Sartin.

"Potentially this should be the most competitive golf team in MACU history," Dukes said.

"We have players from Scotland to Columbia, South America. We also range from Wichita, Kan. to Seminole, Okla. We have 13 good players aboard and qualifying will be brutal. If competition makes you better, then we should benefit."

The Evangels' first tournament this season will take place starting today (Sept. 6) in the Southwestern Christian University tourney at Lake Hefner Golf Course in Oklahoma City.
