OKLAHOMA CITY – Fresh off of securing the program's best conference finish in school history, the fifth-seeded Mid-America Christian University Evangels are set to begin the Sooner Athletic Conference postseason tournament Friday afternoon (May 5).

The Evangels' first game of the tourney will be against fourth-seeded St. Gregory's University at 2:30 pm at Jim Wade Stadium on the campus of Oklahoma City University.

A win over SGU would send the Evangels against the winner of top-seeded OCU and eighth-seeded Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Saturday afternoon (May 7) at 2:30 p.m.

A setback against the Cavaliers puts the Evangels into a matchup against the loser of OCU/SAGU Friday night at 6 p.m.

The championship game is set for Monday afternoon (May 8) starting at 1 p.m. at Bill Smith Ballpark on the campus of USAO in Chickasha, Okla.

The Evangels finished the season strong under second-year head coach Adrian Savedra, winning five of their last eight conference outings that included a sweep of Bacone College and a series win at Wayland Baptist University.
