OKLAHOMA CITY - The Mid-America Christian University men's basketball team has rebounded nicely toward the end of the season after a rocky start to the Sooner Athletic Conference schedule. On Thursday, that effort was recognized by the Conference as three members of the Evangels were named to the All-SAC teams, highlighted by that selection of Anthony Black as one of the conference superlatives.

Black was named the SAC Defensive Player of the Year, and he also earned a place on the All-SAC Third Team, and Justin Bogle and Charles Beauregard, Jr. were selected as Honorable Mention All-SAC.

Black, a 5-7 senior from Little Rock, Arkansas, ranks third in the NAIA in total steals as of the end of the regular season, having pilfered the ball from opponents 67 times on the season. Black also averages 13 points per game, and he has dished out 74 assists in 31 games.

Bogle, a 6-7 senior from Brooklyn, New York, averages 10.5 points per contest, and he has registered 46 blocks on the year, good for 16th in the NAIA. He has also notched six of the seven double-doubles by a MACU player this season. Bogle also scored the winning bucket on a tip-in with 2.7 seconds left in the second half of MACU's 75-74 win in the SAC quarterfinal.

Beauregard, a 6-3 senior from Dallas, Texas, has been a big weapon for MACU in the second half for the last several weeks, helping MACU win eight of their last nine games. He has connected on 83.3% of his free throw attempts on the year as well, which ranks him 15th in the NAIA in that category.
