OKLAHOMA CITY - The Mid-America Christian University men's basketball team elected to sit out the NCCAA Central Region Championship this week and wait to see if they get an at-large bid to the NAIA National Championship, but that did not stop the Evangels from having a trio of players recognized by the region on the All-Region Teams which were released on Friday.
MACU's Anthony Black was named a Second Team All-Region performer, and teammated Justin Bogle and Charles Beauregard, Jr. were named All-Region Honorable Mentions.
Black, a 5-7 senior from Little Rock, Arkansas, averaged 12.9 points per game from the point guard spot for the Evangels this season. In his lone season in a MACU uniform, Black also amassed 76 assists and 68 steals to lead MACU to a 20-win season and a spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference semifinals.
Bogle, a 6-7 senior from Brooklyn, New York, provided a presence both inside and outside on the offensive end, and he was both a glass cleaner and a shot blocker for MACU on the defensive end of the floor.
