However, the Evangels will be looking at snapping a two-game losing streak to the Lady Lions after dropping the previous matchups in Waxahachie, Texas 68-64 on Feb. 2, 2019 and 73-70 on Feb. 26, 2019. Although, the last time the two teams met in the Gaulke Activity Center, MACU rolled for a 96-72 victory on Dec. 13, 2018.
ON THE CUSP OF A MILESTONE
Entering Thursday night's game, senior forward Alexis Shannon is on the cusp of scoring her 1500th career point at Mid-America Christian. The Noblesville, Ind. product currently sits at 1498 points and is the program's fourth all-time leading scorer, most recently surpassing MACU all-time great Angela Holley in the win at Oklahoma Panhandle State. Shannon is in hot pursuit of Joie Mohr for the program's third-best career scoring mark, sitting just 69 points behind the two-time NCCAA All-American.
GOING TO THE GLASS
Mid-America Christian has been one of the best rebounding teams in the country at the midway point of the 2019-20 season, as the Evangels currently rank fifth in the NAIA at 45.8 rebounds per contest. It has been a collective team effort for MACU on the glass as six players are averaging five or more rebounds per game.
