OKLAHOMA CITY – In leading the No. 2 Mid-America Christian men's basketball team to a pair of big home wins last week, senior guard Omar Boone was tabbed as the Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Boone shot lights out from the field, scoring 49 points (24.5 ppg) on 17-for-21 (81 percent) from the floor, 7-of-10 (70 percent) from three and 8-for-9 (88.9 percent) from the free throw line to go with six assists and five steals combined in a 94-83 win over Randall (Okla.) on Tuesday and a 104-45 victory against Ecclesia (Ark.) on Thursday.
In the win over the Saints, Boone dropped 22 points on a blistering 8-of-9 from the floor and went 4-for-4 from the three-point arc to go along with two assists and two steals.
