OKLAHOMA CITY – Due to current concerns about the spread of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus), both the NAIA and the NCCAA have cancelled all winter sports championships on Thursday.

The NAIA national office announced late Thursday morning that it would be cancelling its winter sports championships while the NCCAA followed suit later in the afternoon.

The Mid-America Christian men's basketball team (30-2) was slated to compete in the NAIA National Championships as a No. 1 seed in Kansas City, Mo. on Mar. 18-24 with the Evangels facing eighth-seed Hope International (Calif.) on the opening day.

Meanwhile, the MACU women's basketball team (21-11) earned the Central Region automatic bid for the NCCAA National Championships and were scheduled to compete for a third-straight NCCAA National Championship on the campus of Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind. from Mar. 18-21.
