Jerry McNew (PLAYER OF THE DECADE)
Position: Outfielder/Designated Hitter
Years Competed: 2013-17 (four seasons)
A four-year competitor for the MACU baseball program, Jerry McNew is one of the best power hitters to ever compete for the Evangels. The six-foot slugger from Moore, Oklahoma graduated as the program's NAIA era (2008-present) record holder for career home runs (27) and runs-batted-in (121) while also recording the program's second-most doubles (30) and total bases (230), drew the third-most walks (27), as well as recorded the fourth-most hits (115) and the fourth-highest slugging percentage (.553). During the 2016 and 2017 seasons, McNew was an elite level hitter from the plate. He recorded 12 home runs in each season, tying Adrian Bravo-Carmona for the second-most in a season in the NAIA era. During the 2017 campaign, McNew set a new program record for the most RBIs in a year with 63 while his 18 doubles set the record before it was eclipsed a year later by Logan Gipson. On Mar. 5, 2016, McNew recorded his first career two-homer, six-RBI game to lead the Evangels to a 13-5 victory over St. Gregory's (Okla.). Six weeks later, McNew drove in two more home runs to go with four RBIs in a 12-0 shutout victory at Friends (Kan.) on Apr. 19 after getting his first career three-hit game against the Falcons on Apr. 5. In the 2016 Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament opener, McNew went 2-for-5 from the plate with a homer, three RBIs and two runs scored to help lead MACU to a 14-7 victory over Southwestern Christian for the program's first ever win in the SAC Tournament. McNew was a key piece of the Evangels' second SAC Tournament victory in 2017 as he recorded his third career four-hit game, going 4-for-5 with a homer, a double, six RBIs and scored three runs in a 19-7 win over St. Gregory's. At the conclusion of the 2017 regular season, McNew was selected as an All-SAC Second Team honoree.
"It's an honor to get selected as Player of the Decade," said McNew. "I cannot thank MACU enough for giving me the opportunity to play ball there. I also could not have done what I was able to do without my coaches, friends and family. The teammates I had deserve the credit. I couldn't have asked for a better group of guys to share my experience with."
"Jerry really blossomed his junior and senior years when he finally got a chance to play regularly," said former MACU Head Coach Adrian Savedra. "He worked really hard for that opportunity and had tremendous results. I couldn't be more proud of Jerry for receiving this honor. He was a great student, a great teammate and grew into a great ball player. Jerry is a fantastic example of why coaches shouldn't give up on players and continue to focus on development because when he put it all together, he ended up as one of the best to ever play at MACU."

Wyatt Glasgow
Position: Relief Pitcher
Years Competed: 2014-16 (three seasons)
In his three seasons with the Evangels, Glasgow set multiple pitching records while being arguably one of the greatest closers in the history of the program. The Oklahoma City product and Westmoore High School graduate holds MACU's NAIA era career record for saves (11) while also maintaining the second-lowest earned run average (2.81) while his 41 appearances is the fifth-most of any pitcher with the program. Glasgow's finest season on the mound came in 2015, when he recorded the lowest ERA (0.45) in a single season of any pitcher since the program joined the SAC in 2008 while also notching season program records for the lowest opponent batting average (.169) while allowing the fewest hits (11), runs (3) and earned runs (1) in a year. In that season, Glasgow only issued four walks and struck out a career-best 27 batters over 20 innings of work. His seven saves also shattered Derek Allen's NAIA era record of three saves in a year. During his successful 2015 campaign, Glasglow started off the year with eight straight scoreless appearances, which included a stint of recording saves in three straight appearances, including a 3-2 win over Graceland (Iowa) on Feb. 6 as well as 2-0 and 5-3 wins over Missouri Valley in a doubleheader on Feb. 14. Over the course of his career, the 5-11 righty tossed 51.2 innings and allowed only 20 walks while striking out 72 batters. At the conclusion of the 2015 regular season, Glasgow was named an All-SAC Second Team honoree.

One of the best pure hitters in the history of the program, Diego Pichardo graduated from MACU with the team's second-highest slugging percentage (.627) and second-most runs scored (84), fourth-most home runs (16) and triples (3), as well as the fifth-highest batting average (.336) during the NAIA era. At the conclusion of the 2018 campaign, the Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic product notched the fourth-best batting average (.390) to go along with the fifth-highest on-base percentage (.467) despite an early season injury caused him to miss several games from mid-February to mid-March. Pichardo returned for another stellar season in 2019, as his 11 home runs is tied for the fifth-most in a single year, while his 46 runs were the sixth-most and his .632 slugging percentage was the seventh-highest in the same time frame. In the doubleheader opener against the Bluejays, Pichardo recorded five RBIs to go with three runs in his 3-for-4 performance from the plate to lead MACU to an 8-6 win.

Luis Martinez
Position: Shortstop/Second Baseman
Years Competed: 2011-12 (two seasons)
One of the best infielders to ever dawn the red and white, Luis Martinez was the centerpiece of the MACU middle infield during the 2011 and 2012 seasons. At the conclusion of his career, the 5-10 righty recorded the most hits in program history with 124 until it was recently eclipsed by Felix Martinez during the 2020 season. The San Diego product also recorded the second-most triples (4), third-most doubles (25), runs (80) and total bases (187), as well as the fifth-highest batting average (.357) while defensively notching the second-most assists (216) and double plays (34) during the NAIA era. Martinez's best season from the plate came during the 2012 campaign, when he slashed the sixth-highest batting average (.377) and hit the seventh-most doubles (15) since joining the SAC in 2008. During his junior season, Martinez ripped the sixth-most hits in a season (64) along with the second-most triples (3) and the second-most assists (120). The 2011 campaign saw him record a whopping eight three-hit games and he scored a career-best four runs in an 8-7 win over nationally third-ranked Oklahoma City on Apr. 15, 2011. During the 2012 season, Martinez elevated his bat in the lineup, tallying three games where he notched four or more hits, including a record-setting 5-for-6 performance to go with three runs in a 13-2 victory over Hillsdale (Okla.) on Feb. 8. At the conclusion of the 2012 season, Martinez was tabbed as the program's third ever All-Sooner Athletic Conference honoree, taking home Second Team honors.

Logan Gipson
Position: Designated Hitter
Years Competed: 2018 (one season)
Despite playing with the MACU baseball program for one season, Logan Gipson made his mark by recording the most doubles in a single season during the NAIA era by slashing 21 during the 2018 campaign. The 6-1 left-handed batting slugger closed out the 2018 season with .316 batting average and drew the sixth-most walks in a year with 25 to compile a .399 on-base percentage and a .480 slugging percentage to with 25 RBIs. The Tulsa, Oklahoma native recorded 18 multi-hit games, including five three-hit games. In a 16-6 win over SAGU on Feb. 27, Gipson scored a career-high four runs after going 3-for-4 from the plate. At the end of the regular season, Gipson was honored as an All-SAC Second Team honoree.

Ben Donnell
Position: Starting Pitcher
Years Competed: 2017-19 (three seasons)
A three-year pitcher for the MACU baseball program, Ben Donnell was one of the effective starters to ever take the mound for the Evangels. The Oakville, Ontario, Canada native wrapped up his Evangels career by starting the second-most games (29) while throwing the second-most innings (179.2) and recorded the third-most strikeouts (160) as well as registered the fifth-lowest ERA (4.96) within the NAIA era. The 5-11 lefty recorded 10 wins on the mound, the third-most of any pitcher in that time frame while his nine complete games is also the third-most of any starter. Donnell's strongest season on the mound came during his senior campaign, as he closed out the year with the program's sixth-lowest ERA (3.44) and the sixth-most strikeouts (82) within tossing the third-most innings (83.2) over the course of 13 starts. Donnell made an immediate impact with the program in 2017, tossing a complete game shutout in his first ever appearance. Donnell threw five innings and allowed only two hits and three walks to go with a season-high six strikeouts in a 10-0 victory over Texas College on Feb. 4. Donnell also notched a pair of saves during his sophomore campaign, tossing a scoreless seventh inning in an 11-8 victory over Southwestern Christian on Mar. 25 as well as another in a 5-4 win over Wayland Baptist on Apr. 21. During his junior season, Donnell pieced together a pair of early stellar starts. In a nine-inning outing against No. 5 Oklahoma Wesleyan on Feb. 13, 2018, Donnell allowed just one earned run over six innings to help propel the Evangels to a then 6-1 win over the Eagles. Despite missing about three weeks of action after that start, Donnell had a phenomenal return to the mound against No. 3 Oklahoma City, throwing a complete game by allowing only three runs, one earned on five hits, two walks and three strikeouts in what was then a 5-3 victory. Donnell continued to see success against the Stars in 2019. In a Mar. 16 matchup with No. 7 OCU, Donnell went six strong, allowing only two earned runs on seven hits, a walk and six strikeouts in the 3-2 win. Recording three double-digit strikeout contests, Donnell struck out a career-best 13 batters against Bacone on Mar. 30. However, Donnell's biggest win of his career came in his last ever appearance as an Evangel. In the first game of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament, Donnell helped spark an upset over No. 14 Texas Wesleyan, giving up only two earned runs in seven innings on five hits, four walks and 11 strikeouts as the team held on for the 6-4 victory. At the conclusion of the regular season, Donnell was honored by being named to the SAC Gold Glove Team while also being selected as both an NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.

Robert Santana
Position: Starting Pitcher
Years Competed: 2014
In his lone season with the MACU baseball program, Robert Santana put up unprecedented strike out numbers. Not only did Santana's 127 strikeouts set the fifth-highest mark in the NAIA as well as the program's single season record until it was eclipsed by NCCAA All-American Keisy Portorreal in 2018, but his 14.02 strikeouts per nine innings was the second-highest rate in the entire NAIA. During that senior season, the righty from New York also set the team's single season NAIA era record for most complete games (7) while recording the third-lowest opponent batting average (.192) and tossing sixth-most innings (81.1). In a 2-0 victory over SAGU on Mar. 13, Santana at the time set MACU's single game strikeout record with 16 punch-outs while tossing a complete nine-inning game shutout, allowing only three hits and not issuing a single walk. Santana accomplished the feat once again in a 6-1 win against St. Gregory's on Mar. 27, allowing only one earned run in nine innings on just one hit and four walks. Overall, Santana pitched in six games where he recorded 10 or more strikeouts, which sits alongside Portorreal as the most double-digit strikeout games in a single season during the NAIA era.

Pete Feurtado
Position: Utility/Designated Hitter
Years Competed: 2009-10 (two seasons)
One of the offensive and defensive players to ever compete at MACU, Pete Feurtado's name can be found all over MACU's NAIA era record books. Feurtado still holds the program's third-best career batting average (.369), the fourth-most stolen bases (23), fifth-best on-base percentage (.450), the fifth-most hits (113) and drove in seventh-most RBIs (65) in just two seasons with the program. The 5-11 righty from Santa Cruz, California is also one of the best defensive players to wear an Evangels uniform, as his .986 career fielding percentage is the second-best while his 368 putouts ranks as the seventh-most in the NAIA era. During MACU's successful 2010 campaign, Feurtado recorded his career-best batting average at .374, the eighth-highest single season mark while his 74 hits still holds as the second-most in one year. Feurtado also finished the year with 49 RBIs, tied with Jerry McNew for the fourth in the MACU record books while also being just one of six players in program history to notch at least 100 total bases in a year (104). On the basepaths, Feurtado stole 18 bags during his senior campaign, which still holds as the third-most in a single season. Defensively, Feurtado is one of just five players to ever record 20 or more double plays in a year while his 291 putouts rank as the fifth-most in the NAIA era. During his junior campaign, Feurtado tallied a pair of three-hit games for the Evangels. In a 13-9 win over Oklahoma Christian on Mar. 26, 2009, Feurtado went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and scored a pair of runs. In a late season matchup against Oklahoma Christian on Apr. 29, Feurtado notched his first four-hit contest by going 4-for-4 with an RBI. Feurtado played an enormous role in MACU's deep run in the NCCAA Central Regional. Recording three multi-hit games during the regional, he went 4-for-4 with a run in MACU's 8-5 victory over Colorado Christian in the first game of the NCCAA Central Region final. Despite the Evangels dropping a 10-9 heartbreaker to the Cougars in the championship finale on May 12, Feurtado was key in keeping MACU in the game by going 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs from the plate and scored two runs.
