GREENVILLE, S.C. – After tossing a complete game shutout in his Mid-America Christian baseball debut during a 6-0 victory over Central Baptist on Saturday, junior pitcher Brad White was selected as the NCCAA Pitcher Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Taking on the No. 23 rated team in the nation according to Perfect Game USA, White shut down the Mustangs bats, limiting CBC to only five hits and two walks while striking out seven in the win.
The Texas College transfer was especially dominant late in the contest, as he threw back-to-back perfect innings in the sixth and seventh frame, which included striking out four of the last six batters he faced.
The six-foot starter from Houston, Texas recorded the program's 17th complete game shutout since joining the Sooner Athletic Conference and NAIA in 2008.
White played a pivotal role in MACU's sweep over Central Baptist and Dallas Christian over the weekend, helping the 2021 Evangels squad to record its first 4-0 start in the NAIA era.
Mid-America Christian will look to keep things rolling when it faces Bethany (Kan.) in a four-game series this weekend. Currently, the series is slated to start with a doubleheader on Friday with a noon first pitch at James Curtis Field.
