Men’s Basketball Lands Three On NCCAA All-Central Region Team

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced its All-Central Region Team on Wednesday as three members from the Mid-America Christian men's basketball team earned regional honors.

Senior forward Terrance Jones was selected to the All-Region list for the second straight year as a First Team honoree while senior guard Tony Dorsey and junior guard Jasiah Lewis earned Second Team accolades.

A 6-5 forward from Dallas, Jones continued to be one of the top combo guard/forwards in the NCCAA as he led the Evangels on both ends of the floor. Jones averaged 17.4 points per game on a 43.8 percent shooting clip while being one of the team's top free throw shooters by knocking down 59-for-81 (72.7 percent) from the line. Jones also nearly averaged a double-double, ripping down 8.2 rebounds per game to go with 22 assists, on-top of being a stellar presence in the MACU defense with 15 steals to go with nine blocks.

Returning from injury in the last half of the season, Dorsey made an immediate impact in his return to the lineup. In eight games, the 6-0 guard from Shreveport, La. averaged 11.8 ppg on 33.3 percent shooting, but stellar from the foul line, converting 32-for-39 (82.1 percent) of his attempts. Even outside of scoring, Dorsey was a catalyst for the MACU offense, dishing out 26 assists (3.3 apg) and was strong on the glass by averaging 4.5 rpg.

In his first season for the Evangels, Lewis was one of the team's sharpshooters from the perimeter. A 6-1 guard from Brooklyn, N.Y., Lewis scored 9.7 ppg on 45.9 percent from the floor and 39.1 percent from the three-point arc. Lewis also averaged 3.1 rpg and dished out 21 assists to go with 12 steals on the season.

Mid-America Christian was selected to compete in the NAIA Tournament for the third straight year and will face off against third-seed Holy Cross in the Opening Round on Friday. Tip-off is slated for 11 a.m. inside Hartman Arena in Park City, Kan.
