  • The Evangels immediately turned the tides on the Lions in the bottom half of the first. After Cailey Parsells was hit by a pitch and stole second, she came around to score when Mikaylee Allen slapped a hard-hit bouncer toward the hole at short as the ball ticked off the glove of the diving third baseman and rolled just out of the reach of the shortstop cut the deficit to 2-1.
  • The Evangels tied it up when Allen stole second, moved over to third on Kassie Martin's flyout and then scored when Olivia Roberts smacked a single to shallow center.
  • After Camenda Osborn smashed a double to the left field wall that narrowly missed leaving the yard to put runners at second and third, Faith Hollingsworth smashed a deep ball to right-center field that Hines made an incredible diving grab before crashing into the wall, scoring Roberts on a sacrifice fly to give the Evangels a 3-2 advantage.
