    • The Evangels best chance came in the 38th minute when Alissa Taylor pressed the goalkeeper on a back pass, forcing MU's Sarah Finn to make an errant pass that was intercepted by Kadin Stinson. However, Stinson's follow-up shot was a low-liner that Finn was able drop on-top of to keep MACU off the board.
  • Second Half
    • Mid-America Christian was able to make some strong adjustments to start the second half, mustering four shots through the first 15 minutes with three landing on-goal, but Finn made three saves to hold the Morningside lead.
    • The Mustangs managed to push the lead out to two when Nathalie Larsson was able to find Stausholm breaking down the middle in a one-on-one footrace with the defender. Starwalt tried to come out of the 18-yard box to meet Stausholm at the point of attack, but Stausholm lifted a shot over Starwalt trying to retreat as it bounced in from 30-yards out with just over 13 minutes remaining.
    • The Evangels were finally able to break into the scoring column when Marga Franco's right side cross found Paola Camacho near the top of the box as she heel-passed to Jasmine Morales to her left, firing a shot into the top right corner to cut the deficit to 2-1.
    • The Evangels best chance at the equalizer came with just over a minute left when Stinson's cross was knocked down and Camacho blocked the potential clear.
