- Mid-America Christian struggled against a defensively ferocious Langston squad in its Sooner Athletic Conference opener as the Evangels scored just 19 first half points and were unable to contain the Lions in the second half as LU scored 56 points over the final 20 minutes to hand MACU the 95-52 defeat.
- The loss was MACU's most lopsided since it joined the NAIA level in 2007 and marked just the third time the Evangels lost by 40 or more points in that time frame. The last time it happened came all the way back on Feb. 12, 2009 when MACU suffered a 104-62 defeat at Oklahoma Baptist.
- The Evangels will be looking to get back on-track offensively as MACU shot 55.1 percent from the field in their first two wins while being held to just a 34.9 percent clip against the Lions.
- Despite MACU's offensive struggles against Langston, sophomore guard Jaylon Barnett provided a spark off the bench, scoring a career-high 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting and went 4-for-6 from the foul line to go with two assists in 19 minutes of action.
