OKLAHOMA CITY – After spending the first six weeks away from the MACU Baseball Field to start the season due to renovations, the Mid-America Christian baseball team won a pair of thrillers against Dallas Christian in its home-opener on Tuesday as
Yan Ely Adames hit a game-winning three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth for a 6-4 victory in game one before
Andrew Enwiya came through with the walk-off RBI single in the eighth inning for an 8-7 win in the second game.

GAME NOTES
- Mid-America Christian scored it six runs on three hits and committed three errors while Dallas Christian outhit the Evangels by notching its four runs on eight hits and made one miscue.
- Despite not the bats not heating up in the first game, the Evangels were able to remain patient at the plate by drawing nine walks and two reached by hit-by-pitch while MACU's pitching staff just walked two batters the entire game.
- Yan Ely Adames continued to pour on his team-leading RBI total as his 2-for-3 day with four driven in boosted his season total to 24 while his homer to left was just his second of the season.
- Andrew Enwiya was the only other MACU player to register an RBI in the contest as his groundout in the sixth tied it up at 3-3 at the time.
- Despite not getting the decision, Luuk ter Beek pitched well in the opening game start, allowing just the two earned runs on the two-run homer in the top of the second while allowing six hits with no walks and six strikeouts.
- Chase Zienin notched his first win of the season after giving up an unearned run in the sixth while Kelton Lachelt earned his third save of the season after allowing just one unearned run in the seventh.
- After the first two batters reached in the seventh on an error and an RBI single, Lachelt was able to turn things around in a hurry by getting Carlos Torres to ground into a 4-6-3 double play before getting Emmanuel Valenzuela to flyout to left to end the game.

- Mid-America Christian pushed across its eight runs on six hits and committed a pair of errors while Dallas Christian tallied its seven runs on eight hits and notched five errors.
- The Evangels improved to 16-4 all-time against Dallas Christian and have won 11 of the last 12 in the series since the 2018 season.
- The walk-off win was MACU's second of the season after Ryan Reed smashed a solo homer in a 9-8 victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State at Tuttle High School on Mar. 5.
- Despite not getting the decision, Christian Ballard tallied a career-high eight strikeouts over four innings of work, allowing just three earned runs on three hits and four walks.
- Dallas Christian scored six of its seven runs during the fifth inning.
- In his first appearance of the season, Connor Ray tossed a sensational eight inning by striking out a pair of batters.
- The Evangels led off the bottom of the eighth on a double to right by Caden Harris before Reed laid down a SAC bunt to move him down to third. The Crusaders elected to gamble by intentionally walking both Isaiah Leon and Julian Martinez to create a force out situation at home, but Andrew Enwiya smacked the game-winning hit between the shortstop and third baseman to end the game.
- By getting the doubleheader sweep, the Evangels improved to 9-1 in the month of March.
