OKLAHOMA CITY – The Mid-America Christian baseball team struggled to stifle a late rally by Southwestern Assemblies of God as the Evangels fell 7-6 to the Lions at the MACU Baseball Field on Friday afternoon.

  • Southwestern Assemblies of God scored its seven runs on 10 hits while the Evangels scored their six runs on 11 hits and made one error.
  • Despite not getting the decision, senior reliever Joshua Fernandez put together the best outing of his career on the mound, tossing five scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and a walk to go with a pair of strikeouts.
  • Yan Ely Adames led the MACU bats after going 2-for-4 with a double, a homer, three RBIs and a run scored.
  • Adames' fifth-inning homer marked the 21st of his MACU career, placing him just one back of Felix Martinez for the third-most in the Evangels' career NAIA Era record book.
  • German Sepulveda recorded his first career four-hit game, slashing 4-for-4 with an RBI and a team-leading two runs scored.
