OKLAHOMA CITY – On a windy Friday afternoon at the MACU Baseball Field on Friday, the Mid-America Christian baseball team opened up a four-game weekend series with Bacone with a pair of dominating 17-6, 15-4 victories.
The two wins improved the Evangels to a 25-10 overall record to break the program's single-season wins record, a mark that was initially set by the 2010 team that went 24-30-1 before the 2021 squad matched it with a 24-26 record.

	- Mid-America Christian scored its 17 runs on eight hits and committed two errors while Bacone finished with six runs on nine hits and made three errors.
- Cameron Brown recorded his first win of the season, allowing just one earned run on three hits with two walks and six strikeouts.
- Payton Walk continued to lead the MACU bats, as he turned in a team-high four RBIs off the fourth-inning grand slam, finishing 1-for-3 with a run and also reached on a pair of walks.
- Andrew Enwiya and Austin Wood also finished with three RBIs apiece as Enwiya slashed 2-for-3 with a double and scored three times to go with a walk while Wood batted 2-for-4 with a run and a stolen base.
- Yan Ely Adames was the only other Evangel to finish with multiple hits after going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
- While the Evangels were out-hit in the contest, MACU's patience at the plate paid off as the team drew a season-high 15 walks while having two others reach on a hit-by-pitch.
- The 17 runs scored set a season-high, topping the previous best output of 14 runs in a 14-4 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State in Tuttle, Okla. back on Mar. 5.
- Despite Diego Quintana struggling in his season debut, Reese Cusiter pitched 1.2 innings of solid relief, allowing no runs on just one hit and two hit batters to go with a strikeout while also inducing a double play to end the game.

GAME NOTES
	- Mid-America Christian scored 15 runs on nine hits and made one miscue while the Warriors scored their four runs on seven hits and also committed an error.
- MACU put 20 runners on-base off of nine hits, eight walks and three hit-by-pitch.
- The Evangels trailed by as much as three after the completion of the top of the fourth and battled back from a 4-2 deficit in the fifth.
- MACU blew the game wide open in the fifth inning, scoring a season-high 13 runs in the frame as Devon Villanueva ended the game on a mercy rule with a three-run blast over the left-field fence.
- Villanueva led the MACU bats with three RBIs off that homer and scored a team-leading three runs in the game.
- The bats were balanced across the board as six Evangels recorded at least two RBIs in the contest.
- Payton Walk and Grant Roberts were the only two MACU players to finish with multiple hits, as Walk finished 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored while Grant Roberts slashed 2-for-3 with a pair of singles and two RBIs as well.
- Christian Ballard didn't record a decision in the start after allowing three runs, two earned on five hits and a walk.
- Joshua Fernandez tossed 0.2 innings of relief, allowing one earned run on two hits while Chase Zienin earned his second win of the season after getting the final out in the fifth on a flyout for the only batter he faced.
- After last year's team tied the program's NAIA Era wins record in a 10-0 win over Southwestern Christian in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament on May 7, 2021, the 2022 squad surpassed it with 16 games remaining in the regular season.
- The Evangels extended their win streak over the Bacone Warriors to 13 games since the 2019 season.
- The back-to-back double-digit margins of victory were the third and fourth for the Evangels. The last two games MACU won by 10 or more runs were a 13-0 win and a 14-4 victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State on Mar. 4 and Mar. 5.
