Baseball Set to Compete in SAC Tournament

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference announced its 2022 SAC Tournament pairings on Monday as Mid-America Christian has earned the No. 5 seed and will compete in the Oklahoma City bracket.

The tournament will run from Friday, May 6, will conclude on Monday, May 9 and will be played at two different sites. The Oklahoma City bracket will be played at Jim Wade Stadium on the campus of Oklahoma City University (OCU) and the Chickasha, Okla. bracket will be played at Bill Smith Ballpark on the campus of the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma (USAO).

The Evangels will open the tournament on Friday and will compete against No. 4 seed Texas Wesleyan at Jim Wade Stadium at 2:30 p.m.

If MACU wins their opening game, the Evangels' second game will be on Saturday at 2 p.m. against the winner of top-seeded Oklahoma City and No. 8 seed Oklahoma Panhandle State. If the Evangels drop their opening game, they will face the loser of the OCU/OPSU game at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Mid-America Christian will enter the SAC tourney after posting its first .500 or better record in league play, finishing the conference slate with a 12-12 mark and went 30-18 overall during the regular season, notching the program's first ever 30-win season since the program joined the NAIA in 2008.
