Women’s Basketball Unveils 2022-23 Schedule

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Mid-America Christian women's basketball team officially announced its 2022-23 schedule on Tuesday morning.

The Evangels will be looking to replicate the success of last season's team. MACU not only put together its winningest season in program history with a 28-5 overall record, but also won the program's first ever NAIA National Championship Tournament game with a 76-64 victory over Briar Cliff (Iowa) in the opening round on Mar. 11.

"We're excited about the upcoming season," said MACU head coach Hannah Moeller. "Our schedule includes some quality opponents and it includes a great mix of styles that will test us. The goal is to be playing our very best basketball by February and this schedule should help prepare us to do that."

Overall, the Evangels will compete in 28 regular season games, including 22 Sooner Athletic Conference contests as well as one exhibition game. At the conclusion of the regular season, Mid-America Christian will be hosting the SAC Championships inside the Gaulke Activity Center with the semifinals being played on Feb. 27 and the championship game on Feb. 28.

MACU will officially tip-off the season on Friday, Oct. 28 as the Evangels will host Paul Quinn (Texas) for a 6 p.m. tip-off before following it up with a 6 p.m. tip inside the Gaulke Activity Center against LSU-Shreveport on Nov. 4.

The Evangels will then play its first unofficial road game in an exhibition contest at Oklahoma Baptist on Nov. 7 before returning home for the second annual MACU Classic from Nov. 11-12. Mid-America Christian will take on Evangel (Mo.) in its Friday game before wrapping up the MACU Classic against Oklahoma Wesleyan in the Saturday contest.

MACU will tip-off Sooner Athletic Conference play at home against Langston (Okla.) on Thursday, Nov. 17 before taking on Central Christian in the Evangels' first official road game of the season on Nov. 19.

Mid-America Christian will hold its Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 18 as the Evangels will host its crosstown rival Oklahoma City for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
