  • Team Notes:
    • Mid-America Christian is coming off a tough-luck loss to No. 22 Indiana Tech at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark on Tuesday. After rallying from an early four-run deficit thanks to a five-run sixth inning that featured a three-run homer by Cole Fuecker, the Warriors put up three runs over the final two frames to come away with the 7-5 win.
    • Despite giving up four runs through the first four innings against IT, the Evangels had a promising showing from its middle relief as Mason Ogihara tossed two scoreless innings, giving up just two hits with no walks and a pair of strikeouts while Maycin Smothermon tossed a scoreless seventh in his first appearance of the season, allowing only one walk and struck out two.
    • Even though MACU's pitching staff gave up a season-high 16 hits, the Evangels were able to limit the damage to mostly singles as just four doubles consisted of all of Indiana Tech's extra-base hits.
    • Fuecker's three-run blast in the bottom of the sixth not only moved the junior third baseman into a tie for the team-lead with four, but also moved him to second on the squad in RBI with 16, pinning him just one back of leader Noel McGarry-Doyle.

  • Team Notes:
    • In a battle of two teams tied for the 22nd-ranking in the NAIA, Oklahoma City took two out of three games in the series against Indiana Tech this past weekend. The Stars opened with a doubleheader sweep by scores of 2-1 and 10-2 before falling in the series finale 7-1 on Mar. 12.
    • As a team, the Stars enter the weekend with the SAC's seventh-best batting average (.275), but sit in fifth in on-base percentage (.384) and third in slugging percentage (.460). Meanwhile, OCU ranks sixth in the league in ERA (5.53) as well as fifth in fielding percentage (.961).
    • Even though the Stars aren't boasting the highest batting average as a team, OCU features three hitters that rank in the top 12 in the SAC in slugging percentage with Felix Chenier-Rondeau (.687, 5th), Chad Pike (.678, 6th) and Trent Kiraly (.638, 12th) making the list. Meanwhile, the OCU rotation is headlined by the 2022 SAC Pitcher of the Year Eli Davis. This season, Davis is posting a 1.72 ERA with a 5-to-1 strikeout to walk ratio to go with a 4-1 record on the bump.
    • Despite OCU taking two out of three in the season series last year, the Evangels were able to split the two contests played at the MACU Baseball Field as Andrew Enwiya hit a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the ninth to lead the Evangels to a 2-1 victory before falling in the second game of the twin bill, 7-1.
