    • Putting together a huge week at the dish, junior shortstop Carlos Medina was selected as both the SAC Player of the Week and the NCCAA Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week. Medina finished the slate batting 7-for-11 (.636) with four doubles, a homer, two RBIs and two runs to finish the week with a 1.273 slugging percentage.
    • As a team, the Evangels brought the boom sticks into the series, slugging 11 home runs over the trio of contests, which included breaking the program's NAIA Era single-game home run record with six bombs in the 14-4 win. The biggest bat in the MACU lineup was junior outfielder Caden Harris, who blasted three dingers, including a grand slam in game three for seven RBIs and four runs.
    • By notching a save in the 10-4 win, junior closer Kelton Lachelt tied a pair of illustrious MACU pitching records as his seventh save of the season and the 11th save of his career both matched Wyatt Glasgow for the program's NAIA Era records.
    • On Saturday before the game, the MACU baseball team will be holding a Senior Day ceremony for its five graduating seniors: Yan Ely Adames, Andrew Enwiya, Cameron Phillips, Ryan Reed and German Sepulveda.

  • Team Notes:
    • Jarvis Christian is coming off a really tough showing against Red River Athletic Conference leader No. 2 LSU-Shreveport as the Bulldogs were unable to score a run in the three-game series, falling 6-0, 12-0 and 20-0 on Apr. 14-15.
    • Offensively, JCC has struggled mightily, hitting just .250 as a team with a .353 on-base percentage and a .367 slugging percentage. The Bulldogs pitching has also been highly inconsistent, posting just a 7.44 team ERA while striking out just 177 batters over 257.2 innings.
    • The Bulldogs bats are led by sophomore first baseman Zeke Holder, who is the only JCC everyday player batting above .300 at .316 while slugging a team-high eight homers, 31 RBIs and 23 runs with a .582 slugging percentage.
    • Jarvis' starting pitching has been running mostly on committee, but sophomore righty Alejandro Gonzalez Moreno has been the biggest mainstay in the rotation with 11 starts, turning in a 5-5 record with a 6.79 ERA. Junior righty Victor Moreno has also made nine starts on the season while Alvaro Xavier-Pena and Justin Santiago have each made four starts on the year.
    • Mid-America Christian and Jarvis Christian will be playing each other for just the second time in each of the program's histories and will be meeting at the MACU Baseball Field for the first time ever. In last season's doubleheader in Hastings, Texas, the Evangels lost a heartbreaker 3-2 on a walk-off in eight innings in the opening game before MACU held off a late Bulldogs rally for an 8-6 win in the finale on Feb. 7.
