  • Trailing by a run in the bottom of the seventh, German Sepulveda started off the inning with a base hit through the left side which represented the tying run. In the next at-bat, Cole Fuecker put a ball in play that was fumbled by the Jarvis second baseman as the Evangels had two on with nobody out.
  • Gabriel Aponte entered the game to lay down a successful sacrifice bunt to move the runners into scoring position before the Bulldogs elected to intentionally walk Medina to create a force out at any base. However, the strategy backfired on JCU as Noel McGarry-Doyle drew a walk to tie the game at 3-3.
  • With the bases still loaded and only one out, Andrew Enwiya stepped to the plate looking to walk it off for the Evangels. On the first pitch of the at-bat, Enwiya was a hit by the pitch to bring home the winning run as the Evangels took game one 4-3.

  • Maycin Smotherman entered the seventh inning taking over for Reese Cusiter in a tight situation with runners on second and third with one out, but managed to shut down the Bulldogs by giving up no runs on no hits with one walk and one strikeout to clinch his second victory on the mound this season.
