  • Mid-America Christian put together its most productive game of the season from the plate, scoring its 11 runs on 13 hits for a .541 team batting average while Southwestern tallied just two hits.
  • After both teams put together relatively quiet first innings, the Evangels got the offensive onslaught going in the second when Brooklyn Wilson led off with a single to left before Aubrey Meyers' double to right put a pair in scoring position with no outs. MACU took advantage as Kisbel Vizcaya hit a sacrifice fly to center to bring in Wilson before Makenzie Thurman scored Meyers on an RBI single to left to make it 2-0.
  • MACU started to blow the game open with a four-run third. Once again, the Evangels utilized small ball when Emylee Campbell started off the frame with a triple to center, coming in to score on Hallie Wilson's sacrifice fly to left. After getting runners on the corners off a Megan Widener double and a Brooklyn Wilson single, Vizcaya smacked a single to right to score Widener before Thurman brought in both Brooklyn Wilson and Vizcaya by hammering a 2-run double to center, extending the edge to 6-0.
  • Despite coming up empty in the fourth, the Evangels all but put the game away with a huge five-run fifth. After Thurman notched her third hit on a triple to left, Wheeler hit a single to left to bring her in. Following back-to-back walks by Stormy Haynes and Campbell, Hallie Wilson drew a bases-load walk for an RBI and Widener also drew a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch for an RBI before Brooklyn Wilson gave MACU the 11-0 cushion with a two-RBI single up the middle.
  • Rachel Eggleston picked up her second win of the season in the circle after twirling four sensational innings. The redshirt junior pitcher allowed just two baserunners in those four innings on a pair of singles and struck out a season-high seven batters.
  • The tandem of Makenzie Thurman and Brooklyn Wilson led the MACU batting efforts with a pair of three-hit games. Thurman's career day saw her slashing 3-for-3, finishing just a homer away from the cycle for a career-best three RBIs. Wilson, who had been MACU's leader with the stick through the first four games continued to add to her impressive tally, notching two more RBIs on a 3-for-4 day to go with a pair of runs.
GAME TWO

PITCHING DECISIONS TOP PERFORMERS SCORING SUMMARY GAME NOTES
  • Mid-America Christian scored its nine runs on seven hits and committed four errors while Southwestern tallied its lone run on two hits and made three miscues.
  • MACU shattered its NAIA Era (2008-present) for the most sacrifice flies in a game as the Evangels scored four of their nine runs via the flyout. Previously, MACU had never tallied more than two in a single game.
  • As a team, the Evangels finished with 10 stolen bases, marking the second-most in a single game during the NAIA Era as well as just the third time in program history the squad as notched double-digit steals in one game.
  • The Evangels' first three runs of the contest came via the sacrifice fly as Makenzie Thurman's flyball scored Emylee Campbell in the first, Brooklyn Wilson's sac fly brought in Kenzee Danielson in the third and Campbell then added one of her own in the top of the fourth to plate Jess Moore, setting the score to 3-0.
  • MACU's first RBI base knock came in the very next at-bat when Madison Mora squeezed a grounder just out of the reach of the third baseman, bringing in Stormy Haynes to extend the edge to 4-0.
  • After doing the work with her legs in the fourth, Haynes contributed big time with her bat in the top of the fifth when she hammered a two-RBI single to left in the fifth to bring in both Kayten Herman and Karlee Danielson to make it a 6-0 ballgame.
  • The Moundbuilders lone run of the series came in the bottom of the frame. After Leah Aguilar reached on a lead-off double and then moved over to third on a fielding error at short, Rayven Favors brought her in on a sacrifice fly to center, but MACU starter Chana Wolfe limited the damage to that lone unearned run.
  • MACU added two more in the top of the sixth on a Karlee Danielson sacrifice fly to right before Kayten Herman hit a one-out RBI grounded error to the shortstop to bring in Brooklyn Wilson, pushing the edge out to 8-1.
  • Emylee Campbell wrapped up the scoring in the top of the seventh in emphatic fashion when she hit a liner down the right field line and scored on a lead-off inside-the-park home run to wrap-up the 9-1 final.
  • Sophomore starter Chana Wolfe notched her first career victory in the circle, allowing only one unearned run on two hits with a walk and four strikeouts.
