  • Team Notes:
    • Mid-America Christian pulled out its sixth-straight win in dramatic fashion at Science & Arts on Saturday. After Ashley Hopper was fouled with 0.3 seconds left, the sophomore forward buried the front end of the two-shot foul to seal the 79-78 road victory.
    • In a game that was very statistically even, MACU's three-point shooting proved to play a major fact as the Evangels went 9-for-21 (42.9 percent) from range while the Drovers could only muster 6-of-23 (26.1 percent).
    • After being held to single-digits in her previous two games, senior guard Jaci Calavan snapped out of her cold shooting streak in a big way, finishing with a game-high 24 points on 8-of-15 shooting, including going 3-for-6 from three and 5-of-6 from the foul line. Calavan also narrowly missed recording a double-double after recording a team-high nine boards and five assists.
    • Putting together a huge week for the Evangels, junior guard Shy Christopher was named the Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Christopher wrapped up her week by averaging 24.7 ppg on a 49.2 percent shooting clip, also going 14-of-15 (93.3 percent) from the charity stripe. The Jacksonville, Arkansas native also put together a stellar floor game, averaging 6.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Christopher's best game of the week came in the win on Monday, Jan. 29 in a 72-58 victory over Southwestern Christian when she scored a career-high 35 points.

    • In SAC games, the Lions rank as the second-best scoring offense in the league at 72.9 ppg while boasting the second-highest field goal percentage (41.0) and the fourth-highest three-point clip (31.9). LU has been just as strong on the defensive end, ranking second in conference games in scoring defense (54.3 ppg) while holding its opponents to the second-lowest field goal percentage (33.9) and third-lowest three-point percentage (24.2).
    • Langston features a relatively balanced scoring lineup with six players averaging 6.0 ppg or more, headlined by senior forward Hailey Jordan at 15.0 ppg on the sixth-best field goal percentage in the league (50.2) while averaging 5.8 rpg. Junior guard Kamesha Moore also provides not just a spark offensively for LU, but also defensively as she is averaging 11.9 ppg on a 42.9 percent clip and leads the team with 43 steals, ranking second in the SAC in steals per game (2.5).
    • Mid-America Christian will be looking to stem the tide against Langston as the Lions have won the last two meetings. However, the Evangels do own a 9-4 record in the series since the two teams started facing each other in 2015.

  • Team Notes:
    • Starting a four-game home stand against Southwestern Christian tonight, Central Christian is still seeking its first SAC win after dropping a pair of road games by a score of 73-47 at UNT Dallas on Feb. 1 and a 66-42 defeat at Southwestern Assemblies of God on Saturday.
    • Scoring has been a challenge for the Tigers this season as CCCK ranks second-to-last in the SAC and sixth-to-last in the NAIA in scoring offense (49.0 ppg) while posting the lowest field goal percentage in the league and fifth-worst in the NAIA (31.2) as well as the third-worst three-point percentage (24.6).
    • Four players make up a bulk of Central's scoring as Olivia Bell (12.0 ppg), Brasia Garcia (11.4 ppg), Hallee Winsea (9.3 ppg) and Kylee Jones (8.6 ppg) are the only players averaging more than 6.0 ppg. Winsea is the only player on the team shooting better than 36 percent (36.7 percent) from the floor. However, the Tigers do feature one of the best defenders in the league in Garcia, who leads the conference in steals (49, 2.6 spg).
    • Mid-America Christian will be trying to seek its 20th-straight win against Central Christian. The two squads met inside the Gaulke Activity Center back on Jan. 6 and in that victory, MACU pulled away with a dominant 104-55 win while making a season-high 16 three-pointers. Karley Miller paced the Evangels with 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting while going 7-for-10 from downtown.
